DNS, or Domain Name System, is a protocol used in computer networks to translate human-friendly domain names into IP addresses that computers can understand. The DNS system is essentially a distributed database of domain names and their corresponding IP addresses, which allows users to access websites and other resources on the Internet using domain names instead of IP addresses.
