JEE (Advanced) Exam Details

The IIT Council has given out a detailed note on JEE ADVANCED 2013 in the form of FAQs. Information regarding eligibility criteria, syllabus, important dates, process for registration etc., are given in a very succinct manner so that any type of doubt in a student's mind will get clarified.

Point to be noted is that the note very clearly says that certain aspects like Eligibility criteria, Examination Structure are specific to JEE ADVANCED 2013 only. There is every possibility that they would not be the same for 2014.

One more first of JEE ADVANCED 2013, apart from the role being played by the Class XII board marks in the final seat allocation, is the absence of physical copy of Admit Card. It has to be downloaded from 16th May,2013.

Students must have heaved a sigh of relief on seeing that the JEE ADVANCED 2013 syllabus is similar to that of IIT JEE 2012. They also must be delighted to note that the paper pattern is broadly along the lines of IIT JEE 2012 - that there are two separate objective type (Multiple Choice Question) papers, namely Paper-1 and Paper-2 each of 3hrs duration.

The note also very clearly says that percentile marks/ranking will be based on marks scored in all the subjects of the Qualifying Exam - now students cannot afford to neglect their non-science subjects.

SYLLABUS:

It is same as that of IIT JEE 2012.
